Ashton Gate Stadium was used a base by the BBC whilst filming scenes for a major new TV serial – Five Daughters.
The production team spent four nights in January filming scenes for the BBC One drama in and around Ashton Road next to the stadium.
Five Daughters is a sensitive portrait of events surrounding the discovery of five young women tragically murdered in Ipswich in 2006.
Sarah Lancashire (Cherished, All The Small Things) and Ian Hart (Father & Son, Dirt) lead the cast in the three-part drama serial, written by Stephen Butchard (House Of Saddam, Vincent).
Made with the full co-operation of Suffolk Police and other agencies involved in the case, the factually-based drama will tell the story of the women's lives through the eyes of family members and friends, as well as following the inside story of the police investigation.
It is not the first time the stadium has been used by TV production crews as the ground has also been used as a backdrop for major programmes such as Only Fools And Horses and Casualty.
