Finders Keepers sportman's dinner featuring Shane Warne was 'first class'

Nearly 700 guests joined us last Monday night for a black tie sportsman's dinner featuring legendary cricketer Shane Warne. This gentlemen only event was hosted by Finders Keepers as just one of their sell out events within their sports hospitality calendar. Guests were indulged with a three course dinner before being entertained by a comedian and then delighted with tales from Shane Warne himself. Feedback from guests on the night has been fantastic;

"Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help in making our dinner a success on Monday night. The feedback we have had from our clients has been fantastic and your professionalism and enthusiasm to help was superb and made our lives a lot easier!! The service with getting the food out and overall experience is first class and cannot wait to start planning the next event!" Dave Gilroy (Director) & everybody at Finders Keepers

Bristol City Football Club is bringing forward alternative plans to redevelop Ashton Gate

Ashton Gate redevelopment plans

The newly-redeveloped multi-purpose stadium would be used by Bristol City FC and Bristol Rugby, both of whom are overseen by the same umbrella company, Bristol Sport. Bristol Sport would project manage construction to ensure that the clubs remain focused at all times with on-field success.

The club’s spiritual home in South Bristol would be redeveloped in stages over time to incorporate new stands where the existing Wedlock and Williams stands are currently sited, and these together with renovation works to the Dolman Stand would increase the capacity to over 26,000 seats. Work would also be carried out to the interior of the Atyeo Stand.

Speaking on behalf of the Bristol City FC board, Jon Lansdown told bcfc.co.uk: “Ashton Gate has been the club’s spiritual home for more than 100 years and these plans would improve and enhance the facilities ready for the next 100 years. The stadium would be designed with supporters in mind; there would be full engagement and consultation to ensure we represent the history and heritage of the club as fans would like." 09.10.12 - Gazza wows Ashton Gate crowd
Legendary England star in Bristol last night.
England football legend Paul Gascoigne wowed a sell-out Ashton Gate crowd last night.

The star of Italia 90 and Euro 96, as well as Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Rangers, had more than 650 guests in fits of laughter at his tales from yesteryear.

He discussed the current England set-up, Rangers’ plight in the Scottish Third Division, his favourite former managers and team-mates – and the moment he let an ostrich loose on the Spurs training ground.

The sell-out black tie event saw guests served a three-course meal, enjoy the entertainment of Gazza’s stories and there was also a comedian keeping the laughter going late into the night.

The whole event was organised by Finders Keepers and their team of Andy Brassington, the former professional cricketer, and former Bristol Rovers' David Gilroy.

Brassington said: "It was great to be able to bring this event to Bristol. I'd like to thank all the team at Ashton Gate; the work that went on behind the scenes to make the event a success was terrific."

A huge amount was raised for Macmillan Cancer Charity thanks to a hugely popular raffle. Auction items including signed shirts, boots and photos were also well received.

18.06.12 - Father’s Day at Ashton Gate Stadium goes down a storm!

On Sunday 17th June Ashton Gate Stadium celebrated Father’s Day in style with a special Father’s Day lunch event, attracting families and fans from across the country. Families gathered at Ashton Gate to enjoy a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the stadium, hosted by tour guide and staff member Nick Carlyon and special guest ex-player Scott Murray, followed by a sumptuous two course lunch.

Feedback from the event has been amazing:

“My husband absolutely loved the stadium tour and Scott is his favourite player of all time so that was just the icing on the cake for him! The tour was very informative and having Scott give some anecdotes in the changing room was good fun. Scott was very approachable and posed for lots of photos and signed a top for our daughter and that really made a difference as sometimes 'guest speakers' aren't interested in all that and just disappear off afterwards. The one thing my husband and I were both really impressed with was the food. The lunch completely surpassed our expectations and was not only made to perfection but was also a good portion size too! These two things don't usually go hand in hand! Altogether it was definitely worth travelling up from Southampton for and we would be interested in other afternoon events held at Ashton Gate. Well done to your whole team for organising something that meant so much to my husband on his first Father’s Day!” The Hickman Family

"I just wanted to thank you and all at Bristol City for a wonderful Father's Day visit. We all had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived. Our small children were warmly welcomed, the tour and guide were fun and the food was totally amazing. In fact, for the price we paid we felt like we were spoilt. Hats off to the chefs! Again, thank you so much, we will be sure to recommend this to everyone." The Paterson Family

"Just to let you know we all had a lovely day, the food was top quality, in fact better than we have had at Michelin starred restaurants we have eaten at. Also, having Scott Murray there was fantastic, he is my husband's favourite player and getting to have his photo taken with him and our daughter made his day. Thank you very much for such a wonderful day." The Keitch Family

Ashton Gate Stadium would like to thank all the families that travelled to spend Father’s Day with us, we all enjoyed entertaining you and hope that we will see you again soon.

28.05.12 - Ashton Gate Stadium Hosts Pentecost Worship Concert

Thousands of Christians from Bristol and beyond came together on Pentecost Sunday (27th May) at Ashton Gate Stadium for the largest Christian worship gathering in Bristol for years.

Live music from around the world and prayer filled the stadium on a beautiful spring afternoon, uplifting an estimated 6,000 people.

"What I love about this event is everyone is welcome, so whatever age or background or where you're coming from you can come and meet God in the place of prayer and worship."

Camilla Paget, Pray for Bristol

"What we see all too often is our ability as churches to focus on things that divide us, the things that keep us apart and different. This is a real opportunity to come together and focus on the things that unite us, that bind us together in who we are and this event will help us do that."

Rev Jon Doble, Chairman of Churches Together in Greater Bristol
